Proverbs 12:10-11 “A righteous person cares for the life of his animal, but even the most compassionate acts of the wicked are cruel. The one who works his field will have plenty of food, but whoever chases daydreams lacks sense.”

Mercy works itself out in the life of a Christian by being kind to animals as well. Don’t beat the livestock! By showing mercy to animals we are like God, since God loves all His creation. But, even when acknowledging that, we recognize that mankind is the most precious of all His works.

Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are?”

Is it wrong to chase your dreams? Yes, if you chase them to the detriment of yourself or your family. If someone chooses to help you, great. But don’t make others take care of you when you should be taking care of yourself. Having hopes and dreams is fine, but you need to make sure that they don’t make it so that you can’t take care of your responsibilities.
