Leviticus 18

Sexual sin has been a problem for mankind from the very beginning. It’s even celebrated in certain religions and in the world at large. God’s people were to live differently. Have God’s standards changed?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (WEB) “Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom. Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.”

We also have a reminder in our passage that children are precious and should be protected.

Leviticus 18:21 (WEB) “You shall not give any of your children as a sacrifice to Molech. You shall not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.”

Thought for the day: “Some of you were such” implies that we shouldn’t engage in those types of behavior anymore. We are to be different from the world!

Romans 12:2 (WEB) “Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
