Psalm 146:1-4 “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, my soul. While I live, I will praise the LORD. I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist. Don’t put your trust in princes, in a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.”

People will fail you. God won’t. But we sometimes question that. Why?

  • We don’t trust Scripture. Scripture continually reminds us of the trustworthiness of God and shows us how He works.
  • As a corollary, we don’t really believe in the sinfulness of mankind. We believe people are better than they are, even though Scripture teaches differently, and our own experiences in the world confirm the Bible.
  • We have a limited perspective. We only understand a little. We only live for a short time. God sees and understands everything. Why do we think we know best?
  • Even when we don’t see Him working, God is still at work. He is always working behind the scenes, as the book of Esther teaches us.
