Isn’t it interesting that the centurion listens to Paul twice in the passage? Once when the soldiers were trying to get in the lifeboat (27:32), and again when they want to kill the prisoners (27:43). Is it because he’s secretly a Christian? Was he aware that Agrippa was willing to let Paul go? Or perhaps the way Paul conducted himself led to others respecting him? When we’re respected God is respected, since we are His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). Jesus said the same thing in a slightly different way:
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.”
