Psalm 54:1-7 For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A contemplation by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, ‘Isn’t David hiding himself amongst us?’ Save me, God, by your name. Vindicate me in your might. Hear my prayer, God. Listen to the words of my mouth. For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men have sought after my soul. They haven’t set God before them. Selah. Behold, God is my helper. The Lord is the one who sustains my soul. He will repay the evil to my enemies. Destroy them in your truth. With a free will offering, I will sacrifice to you. I will give thanks to your name, LORD, for it is good. For he has delivered me out of all trouble. My eye has seen triumph over my enemies.”

1 Samuel 23:19-20 “Then the Ziphites came up to Saul to Gibeah, saying, ‘Doesn’t David hide himself with us in the strongholds in the woods, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of the desert? Now therefore, O king, come down. According to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part will be to deliver him up into the king’s hand.’ ”

We have another betrayal with a reminder to trust in God. He is our helper, and, as put previously, we trust in His lovingkindness. He is the one who sustains our souls! As a result, we don’t just bring what is required, we bring more. We give freely to Him because of all that He has done and the promise of what is yet to come. He truly WILL deliver us from all trouble if we know Jesus!

John 14:1-3 “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.”
