Proverbs 12:18-19 “Speaking recklessly is like the thrusts of a sword, but the words of the wise bring healing. The one who tells the truth will endure forever, but the one who lies will last only for a moment.”

We see here perhaps the strongest words yet on the power of our words/mouth/tongue. We need to think before we speak, otherwise our words are destructive. We need to use our words for good, not evil! One way we do that is by speaking the truth. Truthfulness is one of the hallmarks of the godly. One way we use the truth to promote healing is by sharing the gospel of truth!

Ephesians 1:13–14 “And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation)—when you believed in Christ—you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit, who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.
