Proverbs 12:6-7 “The words of the wicked lie in wait to shed innocent blood, but the words of the upright will deliver them. The wicked are overthrown and perish, but the righteous household will stand.”

Words can hurt. Gossip, slander, hateful speech, lies…the list can go on and on.

James 3:6 “…the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence—and is set on fire by hell.”

The upright are careful with their words. They avoid the bad and stick to the good!

Ephesians 5:4 “Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting—all of which are out of character—but rather thanksgiving.”

Proverbs 25:11 “Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is a word skillfully spoken.”

Ultimately, those who choose to be hateful and bitter will be judged, both in this life and in the life to come. We show whose we are by how we behave!

Matthew 25:41-43 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels! For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink. I was a stranger and you did not receive me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’”
