Luke 18:1-17

It’s not that God is like an unjust judge, it’s that we need to be as persistent in our prayers to God as we would be trying to convince a judge for justice (1-8)!

What about Jesus’ words in verse 8: “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” If they are connected with the previous parable, and our faith is measured by how much we pray, what would Jesus say about our faith if He were to come back to the earth today?

Jesus goes on to teach the importance of humility in the Christian life (9-14). We can’t come to God unless we recognize our need for forgiveness, and our ongoing relationship with Him needs to continue to be characterized by that same humility. “Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

There is no greater example of that than a child. Children need help. Children need care. Children are entirely dependent. Children are our role models for how we need to be in our relationship with God (15-18)!
