If you think of the “chosen lady” as a church, does that change your perspective of the passage? That is the common interpretation, and verses 4, 10 and 13 seem to support that understanding. Verse 10 makes even more sense then, because you don’t have a false teacher come and teach in your church!

While we may be looking for the Antichrist at the end of the age, there are antichrists present at all times and in all places (7). We have to watch for them!

Love continues to be an emphasis, which means it probably continues to be a problem. The more things change, the more they stay the same! We need to take John’s words to heart.
