Hebrews 1-2 (The Daily Walk Bible).

There is a case to be made that the author of Hebrews could be Paul. One reason is the intimate familiarity with the Old Testament! In Hebrews we see how the superiority of Jesus was taught from the very beginning of God’s dealings with Israel. That’s important, because it reminds us of the unity of the Bible and the fact that God had His plan in place before the foundation of the world!

Psalm 2:7 I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me,‘ You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.  Hebrews 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son,Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father,And He shall be to Me a Son”?
2 Samuel 7:14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.
1 Chronicles 17:13 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.
Hebrews 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father,And He shall be to Me a Son”?
Deuteronomy 32:43 “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And render vengeance to His adversaries; He will provide atonement for His land and His people.”
Psalm 97:7 Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, Who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods.
Hebrews 1:6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”
Psalm 104:4 Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.  Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.”
Psalm 45:6–7 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.  Hebrews 1:8–9 But to the Son He says:Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
Psalm 102:25–27 Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will change them, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will have no end.  Hebrews 1:10–12 And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.”
Psalm 110:1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”  Hebrews 1:13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”?
Psalm 8:5–7 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field,  Hebrews 2:6–8 But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.
Psalm 22:22 I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.  Hebrews 2:12 saying: “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”
Isaiah 8:17 And I will wait on the Lord, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; And I will hope in Him.
Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;‘ For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.’ ”
2 Samuel 22:3 The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence.
Hebrews 2:13 And again: “I will put My trust in Him.” And again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”
Isaiah 8:18 Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the Lord of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.  Hebrews 2:13 And again: “I will put My trust in Him.” And again: “Here am I and the children whom God has given Me.”
