John 9-12 (The Daily Walk Bible).
We have a reminder here that bad things can happen for a good purpose: “He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him” (9:3). And we also have this: “Lazarus is dead. And for your sake, I am glad I wasn’t there because this will give you another opportunity to believe in me” (11:14-15). But we have an even better example with Jesus: “Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from what lies ahead’? But that is the very reason why I came! Father, bring glory to your name” (12:27-28). God will ultimately use all things for His purposes and His glory.
John 12:28 “Then a voice spoke from heaven, saying, ‘I have already brought it glory, and I will do it again.'”
And when we are focused on God’s good and God’s glory, we will be content because we understand that what is good for God is good for us!
Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
