Luke 22-24 (The Daily Walk Bible).
Aren’t you glad we can paraphrase Jesus’ words to Peter: “Satan has asked to sift you. But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail. You will fall, but you will repent, and I will pick you up and put you back on your feet again. Then you can strengthen others.”
Romans 8:34 “Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
It shouldn’t surprise us that we see people not understanding the Word of God without some help. We’re reminded in the Bible that without spiritual help we can’t understand either. Thank God for His mercy!
1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
