Isaiah 44-48 (The Daily Walk Bible).
There is a reminder here that is important to understand. “Rather, I have refined you in the furnace of suffering” (48:10). God has a purpose in suffering.
Also, when we read about idols, we sometimes think that doesn’t apply to us. But, in reality, we may be the worst of the lot. In our day and age we tend to make ourselves the idols. We look at God’s Word, don’t like what it says, and decide to change it. In effect, we are declaring ourselves to be gods. Are we really any better than Israel or Babylon? We need to make sure we are willing to submit to God’s will when we read His Word!
