Isaiah 36-39 (The Daily Walk Bible).
The Assyrian’s chief of staff claimed to be bringing a message from God. We need to make sure that we always “test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1). How can we test them? By holding up what others say to the Bible!
King Hezekiah becomes both an inspiration and a warning to us. An inspiration for his praying for both national and personal issues. A warning because of his pride (showing off the treasury), and his selfishness. Instead of acknowledging his mistake in showing off the treasury, he says “at least there will be peace and security during my lifetime.” Not a good look!
