Isaiah 28-30 (The Daily Walk Bible).
Isaiah 28 reminds us of the need to have godly leadership for God’s people.
Isaiah 29:13 is an important verse. It’s quoted in Matthew 15:8-9, and Mark 7:6-7. Don’t just honor God with you lips!
Isaiah 30 may seem to teach that we should never look for outside help. Read verse 2 carefully: “who set out to go down to Egypt without asking for my direction.” The reminder here is that we need to turn to God for guidance and direction FIRST when we are in trouble. Today God guides us through His Word, the Holy Spirit, pastors and teachers, and godly men and women. Too often our problem is that we are ready to go it on our own and not find out what God wants or how God wants us to live.
If you need a life verse, Isaiah 30:15 may qualify! “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
Amen!
