Isaiah 13-16 ( The Daily Walk Bible).

From Halley’s Bible Handbook: “The gist of the prophecy is this: Babylon shall supersede Assyria (14:25), and Media shall supersede Babylon (13:17), and Babylon shall pass away forever (13:19–22; 14:22–23). (For fulfillment of this astonishing prediction, see under 2 Kings 25.)”

Why is this important? Well, if you think that people wrote the book long after the events to describe what happened, then it’s not. But if you believe in a sovereign God who worked through people to record events before they happened, then it’s faith and awe inspiring! Predictive prophecy is a part of God’s Word, and it should inspire us to trust Him with today.

Isaiah 16:5 shows us that the Messiah wasn’t just for Israel. Even the people of Moab could find refuge in Him! God’s family comes from all nations:

Revelation 5:9-10 “And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood. Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.’”
