Job 18-19 (The Daily Walk Bible).
Although Genesis records the earliest history in the Bible, it’s thought that Job may be the earliest complete book of the Bible, recording events during the time of the Patriarchs. That’s what makes Job 19:25-27 so special and incredible: “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God,whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!”
Not only is this perhaps the earliest expression of belief in the resurrection, it’s also incredible that even in the midst of despair Job remembers this and is comforted! Hopefully, when we are down and discouraged, remembering what God has done for us through Jesus Christ will give us encouragement and comfort as well.
Amen, so true. Thank you for your insights, I needed to be reminded of this truth today.
