Genesis 3-5

There are two passages that were suggested as complementary to Genesis 3. Both indicate how we can resist temptation..

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

2 Timothy 2:22 “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

I think that they both go well with God’s words to Cain: “Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it.”

How do we subdue sin? How do we resist the devil and submit to God? By fleeing situations that can tempt us, by pursuing good things (like the Word of God), and by prayer. Any other ideas?
